Congratulations! The Adirondack Community Church is delighted to share in your wedding. This information should help answer questions you may have. Additional guidance is always available from the church office. Time and place: The date and time of both the wedding and rehearsal should be discussed with the minister as soon as possible. These dates will then be tentatively reserved until the church receives the completed application [HERE]. Upon receipt of the application, your date will be reserved. Be aware that the church has a 5 PM Praise and Worship Service on Saturdays and to allow time for clean up and set up in preparation for that service, no weddings will be scheduled later than 2 PM on Saturdays. Music: Please find a list of organists attached. The church is currently without an organist on staff. Fees are to be arranged between the bridal party and the musicians directly without involvement of the church unless other arrangements are made. Costs: The church asks for a donation of $300 from non-members for the use of the sanctuary. Of this donation, 50% will be used for the maintenance of the website and 50% will be given to missions. Should this be a prohibitive amount for you, please let us know. It is also customary for the bridal party to pay a modest fee to the Church Sexton. Listed below are services offered and the cost of those services. Payment is expected by the time of the rehearsal. (Please be informed that you are totally responsible for the setting up of the Sanctuary and that there will be no church staff member present either at your rehearsal or wedding. No parking is offered as this is a downtown church and we "own" no parking spaces. There is a Municipal Parking Lot directly across the street. The church office is open on Weekday mornings, 8 AM-Noon. Stop by and the secretary will be happy to show you around during those hours.) Minister: Reverend Mark Demers requires that you attend his pre-marital classes held each spring. If you are unable to attend these classes he will require that you receive pre-marital counseling from a counselor or clergyperson of your choosing. Marriage License: You are required to have your marriage license prior to the wedding. Rehearsal: All persons taking part in the ceremony should arrive promptly for rehearsal, which lasts approximately one hour. Flowers: The church has a candelabra with 14 oil candles available. Please check with the church office for details. Several area florists will provide pew ribbons to mark off family sections as well as a runner for the aisle. If you plan to leave the flowers for Sunday church service, please let us know in the church office, we like to acknowledge these gifts in our Sunday bulletin. Photographer: Photographs may be taken during the ceremony at the discretion of the bride and groom. The wedding party is also invited to return to the sanctuary after the service. Reception: If you would like to use the church facilities for your reception, arrangements can be made by calling the church office 518-523-3753. Erdman Hall seats 100, costs are determined on an individual basis. No smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises. Other: We ask that confetti and/or rice not be thrown as it is environmentally and physically hazardous. We recommend birdseed as an alternative. If we can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact the church at 518-523-3753. We look forward to hearing from you. |
